About

Our Mission

Hispanic Globe has its roots in the appreciation of Hispanic/Latino culture, which includes its people and their expressions of art, belief, customs, and language.  We are dedicated as a platform to promote Hispanic culture and to help people find intelligent and helpful information about the Hispanic world.

Our Contributors

Here at Hispanic Globe, we are building an association of people who share our interests.  We invite you to share this journey with us.  A good place to start is to sign up for our free newsletter on the right side of this page.  We will keep you informed of our activities and information of the Hispanic world abroad.

Sarasota, Florida

Mark is creator and founder of Hispanic Globe.

The many foreign lands that he saw in an encyclopedia as a youth seemed to call to him.  His parents believed in education and learning to think for yourself.   They purchased a set of Compton’s Encyclopedia – not an inexpensive investment for working class folks at that time.  He began to explore.

As a ten year old there was no internet.  Mark went straight to the geography, his favorite course in school, and there it was – the Iberian Peninsula, Spain, and Portugal.  Then Mexico, Central America, South America, and the Caribbean caught his eye.

After graduation from college he taught high school Spanish and history, and then went on to graduate school.  His graduate studies focused on colonial Latin American history for which he published a few academic articles.

With Hispanic Globe, Mark has returned to his educational roots to combine his business and educational experience to develop a better understanding of Hispanic culture, its language, and its people.

Mark enjoys travel and has lived and traveled throughout the United States and Canada, including Mexico, South Africa, Spain, The Bahamas, and Uruguay – and still traveling.  Currently, beautiful Sarasota, Florida is his base.
